Bess began extensive training with Geneen Roth, best-selling author and expert in this field, which has continued for more than a decade. Bess discovered that diets, not only cause compulsion with food, but rarely lead to lasting change. Bess learned that diets fail to address the underlying emotional issues, while sending the message that we cannot trust ourselves. Bess made peace with food and returned to her natural weight, losing 56 pounds.
